Los Angeles often gets stigmatized as a non-industrial city because of the volume of high-profile celebrities and industries connected to the county, but at its heart, it's a city that's kept alive by the entrepreneurial spirit of the Angelenos building small businesses to help solve the problems and needs of their communities.
Because of this, we created Social Studio LA, a social media and branding agency committed to servicing Black and Brown-Owned small businesses.
SSLA was founded by Phillip Barnett, a 15- year advertising veteran who spent his career delivering award-winning campaigns for some of the world's largest brands.
SSLA was born as a solution to a problem. Global corporations use our culture as a commodity without giving anything back to the communities creating the entertainment, music, language and style that inspired the visuals and energy of their ads.
Instead of continuing to sit back and watch as brands profit off our talent, SSLA is taking all of the strategies and executions these brands use and pouring them into the small businesses that make Los Angeles one of the world's cultural centers.
